Yes, I do drive slower for a reason...

...my car can't go above 52mph.  Sure, if we had the ability to get a tune-up (after we fix the brakes, get new tires, replace the broken driver's seat, and maybe fix the back window that stopped working last week), it might get better than 8 mpg and break the 55mph speed barrier - but seeing as we can barely afford the break fluid we need to keep dumping into the brake lines to keep the brakes from utterly failing, that is a really HUGE "might".

So yes, irritated driver behind me, there is a very good reason I will not punch the gas to satisfy your unmitigated need to pretend you are Dale Earnhardt sweeping round the final lap of the Daytona 500 in order to offset the monotony that is your life.  The reason is I simply am unable to go any faster.  That is just a limitation I have had to come to terms with.  Were my other car drivable, you can bet I would be in that one instead of this one...which is being held together solely with a roll of duct-tape and prayer.  However, the last time I drove that one, I wound up on the side of the freeway with my head in my hands waiting for a tow truck (a.k.a. the 52 minutes of my life I will never get back).

But go ahead and honk, you snotty little Toyota Corolla.  I will just ease up on the gas and make your commute that much more pleasant, seeing as how you're making mine so lovely.  Asshat.
